Description:
Bottom-mounted ultrasonic sensors are non-contact measuring devices designed for small and medium-sized water tanks. They are attached to the bottom of the outer wall of the water tank and use ultrasound to penetrate the tank wall to monitor the liquid level in real time.
Ultrasonic tank level bottom sensor can accurately measure the liquid level within 2m without drilling holes. They are suitable for clean liquid scenes such as household water storage tanks, agricultural irrigation water tanks, and laboratory pure water equipment, especially for environments with strict hygiene and safety requirements (such as drinking water and chemical reagent storage). Hydraulic tank level sensor is non-invasive design eliminates the risk of contamination and leakage, and is easy to install and maintain. Hydraulic tank level gauge is a cost-effective solution for liquid level monitoring in sealed containers.

Install:
- Choose the installation location: The outer wall of the bottom of the water tank should be flat, free of rust, welds or concave-convex structures, and avoid internal baffles, brackets or heating pipes and other parts that interfere with sound waves.
- Surface treatment: Sand the installation area until it is smooth, remove oil, coating or rust, and ensure that the sensor fits tightly against the tank wall. Apply ultrasonic coupling agent evenly on the contact surface of the sensor to fill the tiny gaps between the tank wall and reduce sound energy loss.
- Fit the sensor: Put the sensor close to the tank wall by snapping, magnetic suction or gluing, press to remove bubbles, and ensure that there is no looseness.
- App setting: Scan the QR code to download the app. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, turn on the device switch, and search automatically. Set smart reminders via email
User Manual:
- Scan the QR code to download and install the “Tank IOT” app (Figure 1 )
- Click to enter the APP. The device list is empty. Click the “+” button to add a device. (Figure 2)
- Click on “Bluetooth Device” (Figure 3)
- Bluetooth search: A list displays the devices within the range that can be connected. Click on the device you wish to pair and proceed to the next page. (Figure 4)
- Install the equipment according to the gyroscope’s indication and then click the green arrow to proceed to the next step; (Figure 5)
- After waiting for a few seconds, enter the “parameter setting” (Figure 6) page to make the parameter settings. The available settings options are as follows:
- Length units:Â Meter, Centimeter, Inch, Foot. The APP defaults to using meters. Once the length unit is selected, all subsequent settings will be based on the same set of length units.
- Container size:Â When choosing a vertical cylindrical tank and the detected medium is gas, the page displays “gasoline”; when choosing a vertical cylindrical tank and the detected medium is water or oil, the page displays “black oil tank”; for the rest, it displays “white horizontal tank body”.
- The upper limit alarm percentage setting is set to 100% by default in the APP.
- The setting for the lower limit alarm percentage is 0% by default in the APP.
- Installation height setting, which is the distance value from the sensor to the top of the container. The factory-set value for this in the APP is 2.90 meters.
- The distance between the sensor and the lowest liquid level in the container is set at 0.05 meters by the factory of the APP.
- Optional settings. After selecting the container shape and entering the parameters, the liquid volume can be displayed. Click to enter, “√” selects the container shape and enters the corresponding “length and width values” or “diameter value”. If it is a cylinder, set it to 1m, click the left top return button to return to the settings page; if you need to modify the default values, click “>” to modify the settings, enter the values and click the left top return button to return to the settings page. Click the green button at the bottom to submit the settings, and the page will refresh to enter the next page.
- Enter the “tank level monitor” page, which displays the current liquid level depth, percentage, whether it is an upper/lower limit alarm, and the liquid volume.
- If you need to adjust the settings later, click the “gear” icon on the top right corner to enter the “parameter setting” page and modify the parameters. After confirming that everything is correct, click the green button at the bottom to submit the update.
- Click on the upper left corner to return, and then return again. You will enter the “sensor list” page, which displays the devices currently added to the APP.
- Click on the three dots in the upper right corner to enter the device management page, where you can choose to delete the device or send email reminders for high and low liquid levels (Figure 10).
Recommended Installation
- Remove the coupling agent from the black silicone probe in the center of the sensor and apply it to the surface.
- The sensor is firmly attached to the surface of the container (note that it is the protruding part of the sensor that is in close contact with the container)
- In case the distance cannot be detected, check if the Kraft glue has run out and add more if necessary. (As shown in the picture, take out the adhesive and apply it to the surface of the black silicone probe.)
- Exit the app and reconnect.

FAQ
Q: What if the water tank cannot attract the magnet?
A: You can buy strong glue and apply it on the sensor and then stick it on the water tank.
Q: Does the bottom of the water tank have to be flat?
A: Yes, the installation area at the bottom of the water tank needs to be polished smooth, without pits, welds or rust (otherwise the coupling agent will be less effective). In addition, please make sure there is no foam or precipitation in the water tank, which will cause messy echoes and affect the accuracy of the data.
Q: Why do you need to apply coupling agent in the middle of the sensor before installing it?
A: Use the ultrasonic coupling agent glue we send you to fill the air gap between the sensor and the tank wall to ensure efficient transmission of sound waves.
Notes:
- This is a Bluetooth device and as such the mobile phone needs to be within Bluetooth range for on-app monitoring.
